The Story Behind Superyard

Hi, my name is Ritchie, and I’d like to tell you about an experience I had at the construction company I work in. One morning, I took a walk in our yard to see how things were going and this particular morning all I could see was floor to ceiling formwork, timber, scaffolding and other materials that had just come back from our work sites.

At the same time, I had been trying to source materials for a new project we’d just won, but I was really struggling to find any. So here I was, with a bunch of stock we didn’t require but could be reused, AND having a hard time acquiring construction materials that we really did need, unless I went down the costly and time-consuming brokerage option.

Standing in that yard, I just knew there had to be a better way that could solve our problem and reduce waste and drive sustainability in our industry. And right there in that yard, the idea was born to build Superyard, an online marketplace that creates visibility and connects buyers and sellers directly to trade unused construction materials.

Superyard will save businesses time and money looking for products, and expose their unused stock to a dedicated target audience. Construction businesses big and small will now have the tools at their fingertips to improve their profitability and cash flow while contributing to this industry’s circular economy.

How does it work? Businesses of all sizes can sign up for membership to the Superyard website to search for individual items, upload their own lists of materials that they’d like to sell, and connect directly with other users to negotiate prices and terms.

There are no commission charges, with Superyard simply playing matchmaker between companies that need, and need to offload, reusable materials.

By removing that time-consuming process of signing contracts and negotiating commission percentages via a broker, Superyard will be a strong alternative to the way that these materials have been traditionally traded.

Our mission is to help businesses in our industry thrive by connecting yards around the country and offering an innovative way to source and sell materials. Superyard will power the circular economy of the construction industry.
